Staying Safe..... On Social Media and online

This is an easy to understand guide from the foundation for people with learning disabilities.  There are lots of pictures and good advice to help stay safe on social media. This covers Facebook, Email, Twitter and Skype!

Zoe and Molly Online

This website is an online comic book with fun games. Play with Zoe and Molly to learn how to stay safe on the internet. There are activities to do with a trusted adult too!

Hector's World

Hector the Dolphin and his friends help you learn how to be safe, nice and have fun online. There are games and shows and music videos!  This site has lots of awesome resources for trusted adults to learn more about digital citizenship.

Hector's World- Safety Button!

It has a downloadable safety button that you can put on your desktop that you can click on if you see someone online that you don’t like.  Then an underwater animal will cover what you didn’t like with nice words.  It will also remind you to talk to a trusted adult!

Family Lives

This website is is for trusted adults.  Check out the "Parent's Guide to Facebook" to learn the basics of facebook and how to use the privacy settings.

Cyberbullying Resource Centre

This site has activities do with a trusted adult like cyberbullying scripts, worksheets, crosswords, and stories.  This site has a lot for trusted adults including quick guides for internet safety, cyberbullying, disclosing personal information, cell phones, social media and more.

CerebraLearning Disabilities, Autism and Internet Safety:A Parent’s Guide.

This is an online learning tool for trusted adults to help people who have learning disabilities or Autism stay safe on the internet.  It is through and has some great tips but is from the UK- so use it a resource not the rule because some laws are different in Canada!

CyberTip

Cyber Tip is a resource for Trusted Adults only.  It is Canada’s tipline to report the online sexual exploitation of children and ways to protect vulnerable people.
